The gift of giving

Reading Through The Lines (and signs!)

When deciding what to gift the one that has your heart, always go above and beyond.  Not in a materialistic, spending-a-shit-load-of-money kind of way, but in an i-want-to-provide-you-with-a-memorable-experience kind of way.  Pay attention to what your partner likes.  Who they like/admire/look up to.  Be attentive to what they’re lacking in their life, and ask yourself how you can fill this void for them.

Don’t give a gift for the sake of necessity.  Give a gift for the sake of making an impact on their life.  With everyone and everything being so accessible these days online, the sky is the limit.  Is your guy a hard worker who admires a business man in another city who has made it big?  Why not see if said guy is available to do a one-hour coaching session online with your other half?  Is your guy a huge sports fan and a sucker for a particular player?  Why not see if you can get killer seats, and do some sort of meet-and-greet with the player of choice?

The thing about gifting someone something meaningful, is that you get just as much out of it as they do.  You get the gift of their happiness, which truly is the best gift of all.  By providing for them in a way they can’t provide for themselves, you can help complete them.

But remember, the best gift you can give anyone is your time.  So if joining them for an experience, put your phone down and be in the moment with them.

  1. How about we not buy anything for our women in the first place?

What I mean is, men today are put in such a pressure-filled situation where he has to buy, he must buy, and if he doesn’t, he’ll be seen as a villain and a careless guy. This sort of mentality is what is killing the dating scene especially in America.

We men need to go on a Christmas-season strike and not buy any gifts for women at all. Men need to regain respect in the dating scene. And buying women diamonds won’t cut it.
