I just finished watching a movie called ‘Love Happens,’ staring Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart. I stumbled across it this evening, and it couldn’t have been a better day for it to appear on my screen. Earlier today I blogged about dealing with loss, as it would’ve been my mom’s 60th birthday. Since she is not here with us, I am forced to celebrate it on my own in a way to commemorate her triumphant life. ‘Love Happens,’ is a movie about a widower who writes a self-help book about dealing with loss, only to find that he hasn’t yet dealt with his.
For those of you who have lost someone in your lives to death, I highly recommend this film. It has hints of a romantic nature, perfect for us blonde, twentysomethings, as well as a number of laughs to be had. At the end of the day, this feel good film promotes growth, and may bring out some feelings and thoughts that we may have originally pushed away.
Jenny Jen’s recommendations for watching this film:
– watch it alone. When we watch films alone we are able to soak in the emotions and allow ourselves to feel them, instead of putting our efforts into worrying about judgement from the other person/people watching the film with us.
– have the kleenex box handy.
– laugh out loud. This film has a few moments where you can’t help but laugh. Laughing out loud releases the tension, and let’s out some pent up energy from the – at times – sad tone set by this movie.
– let me know what you think. Reader reviews are as good as my own. Feel free to bookmark this post and log back on to give us your feedback.
